Due Dates and Overdue Notices
All patrons are responsible for returning library materials on or before the date the material is due. Due dates can be found online by logging into your library account.
The Library sends notices via e-mail to patrons alerting them of overdue materials. Notices are sent to institution e-mail addresses only. The Library is not obligated to send overdue notices, but does so as a courtesy. A courtesy notice will be sent before an item’s due date. Three overdue notices will be sent, and if necessary, a final notice stating the charges incurred for the item(s). Failure to receive a library notice does not remove the borrower’s obligation to return the materials by the due date.
Fines and Fees
If an item is overdue for 45 or more days, the item will be considered lost and replacement fees will be charged. If you receive an overdue notice or bill for an item that has been returned, or you believe has been returned, contact the Library.
All fines will be charged to your student account and can be paid online through My JU. You may also pay library charges at the Cashier’s Office (located in the Howard building). The Library does not accept payments of any kind.
During library hours, all materials should be returned to a library employee at Circulation (main floor). After hours, materials may be returned to the library book-drop, located in the front of the Swisher Library (left of the main entrance).
