Interlibrary Loan

What is interlibrary loan?

Interlibrary loan (or ILL) is a service where Swisher Library borrows materials from another library on your behalf.  No library can own everything, so ILL is designed to supplement library resources through relationships with other libraries around the world.   Please remember that books, articles, and other items are sent to us from other libraries, including out of state.  Processing and transit time means that items are not available the same day.  However, ILL can be a powerful tool with a little planning.

ILL is a free service available to all current JU students, faculty, and staff.

During the traditional academic year the Interlibrary Loan department is open Monday through Wednesday, and Friday through Saturday.  ILL requests are not processed during University breaks, closures, or holidays.
