Overview of Library and Business Resources for DCOB students (30-45 min)Schedule your class

This library workshop is designed to be a general overview of the library's business specific resources for new students.  At the end of this session, students will be able to find business resources using the library's business databases (Business Source Complete, ABI/INFORM Complete, etc.). 


Discipline Specific Resources (30-45 min)

This library workshop is designed to be an overview of library resources for a specific discipline.  At the end of this session, students will be able to find discipline specific resources using library databases.  Pick one of the following Davis College of Business areas:

Marketing and Consumer Research Library Workshop (30-45 min)Schedule your class

This library workshop is designed to assist business students with their marketing and consumer research project.  At the end of this session, students will be able to find their best customers, research their target market, and understand how to use research to market to their target market. 
Students will also learn how to use the library's business databases (Business Source Complete, ABI/INFORM Complete, etc.). 


Company Research Library Workshop (30-45 min)Schedule your class

This library workshop is designed to assist business students with their company research project.  At the end of this session, students will be able to find company information such as a company's NAICS code, financial information, SWOT, SEC filings, annual reports, 10Ks, key executives, and more! 
Students will also learn how to use the library's business databases (Mergent Online, Hoover's, etc.).


Industry Research Library Workshop (30-45 min)Schedule your class

This library workshop is designed to assist business students with their industry research project.  At the end of this session, students will be able to find industry information such as industry reports, NAICS code, industry overview, segmentation, Five Forces Analysis, leading companies, market value forecast, market rivalry, etc. 
Students will also learn how to use the library's business databases (Business Source Complete, ABI/INFORM Complete, etc.).


Business Plan Research Library Workshop (30-45 min)Schedule your class

This library workshop is designed to assist business students with their business plan research project.  At the end of this session, students will be able to find customers, population statistics, industry information, NAICS industry code, marketing information, competitors, etc. 
Students will also learn how to use the library's business databases (Business Source Complete, ABI/INFORM Complete, etc.).


Advanced Research for DCOB Graduate students (30-45 min)Schedule your class

This in-depth library workshop is designed to assist DCOB graduate students with their capstone, thesis, or dissertation research.  At the end of this session, students will be able to use the library's resources to successfully complete their final research project. 


Assignment Specific Business Research Workshop (30-45 min)Schedule your class

Send us your business related research assignment and we will create a custom library workshop lesson to meet the needs of your students.  Students will learn how to use library resources to complete their assignment.


Student Research Day (2nd visit to the library) (50 min)Schedule your class

This session is designed as a follow-up to the assignment specific research workshop.  Before the session, students must have a research topic and an upcoming research assignment due.  During this session, students will spend most of the class period working on their research with the help of a librarian.  A librarian will be available to answer questions from students.  The librarian can also provide students with database and keyword recommendations based on each individual research topic.  Students will have the opportunity to ask a librarian about their research, citations, sources, or the library databases.  This session will be held in either the Johnson Computer Lab or a computer classroom.
