Introduction

This Swisher Library guide contains resources to inform JU faculty about the intersection of academic integrity issues with artificial intelligence - especially in the field of education. The resources featured here are also designed to spark genuine conversations and considerations about ethics, integrity, and honesty.

Resources include mainstream content from news articles, video resources, and novels that ask big ethical questions of their readers. Also included are more academically-geared resources like scholarly articles, non-fiction books that examine truth-telling in the modern era, scholarly monographs, and links to video presentations and panel discussions featuring experts.

Resources

These fictional works examine themes of honesty, acting ethically, navigating morality in murky situations, personal responsibility, retaining one's humanity, regret, and explore the consequences of hard choices.

These graphic novels present readers with characters committed to truth-telling in the face of dire consequences, and who explore personal agency and questions of ethical responsibility.

These non-fictional books encourage their readers to consider the consequences of misinformation and truth-telling, the erosion of trust in authority figures and institutions that has significantly impacted American society, ethical dilemmas with complex answers, and the responsibilities of those with positions of power.

These scholarly-geared books examine ethical decision making, ethical standards across cultures and groups, credibility, honesty, fairness, personal accountability and responsibility, transparency, and the implications of advanced technology on higher education.
