APA Guide 6th ed.

Citing Personal Communications such as Interviews, Emails, etc.

Reference List

According to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 6th ed., do not include interviews, emails, or other personal communications as sources in your reference list at the end of your paper.  However, you will need to cite them in-text when you refer to them in your paper.  Even though APA states not to include interviews, emails, or other personal communications in your reference list, your professor may expect to see these listed in your references.  Be sure to check with your professor when citing interviews, emails, or other personal communications.

In-text

Cite personal communication such as emails and interviews in-text when you refer to them in your paper.
