Does the library accept donations?

The Swisher Library accepts donations from Jacksonville University staff, faculty, and students, and community members that meet the guidelines of our gift policy.

What items does the library accept?

Generally, the Swisher Library accepts items that are current (not outdated), in good condition, and are relevant to the university’s curriculum. For more details, see the Library’s gift policy.

Can I donate my textbooks at the end of the semester?

The Swisher Library is happy to accept your textbook donations. These donated items are subject to the Library's gift policy.

Can I have a tax receipt for my donation?

The Swisher Library can provide a donation acknowledgement form acknowledging the number of items received. The Library does not appraise or assign value to donations.

Can the library pick up my donation?

The Swisher Library is currently unable to pick up donations.

What if my donated items are rare and/or valuable, or are artistic works? What if they are historical or antique in nature? What if they directly pertain to the Jacksonville, Florida area, or Jacksonville University, specifically?
