Course Reserves Collection at Swisher Library

Course Reserves Policies

Items in the Swisher Library’s Reference Collection should not be put on Course Reserves. These items do not circulate and are always available when not in use. Materials from the Library’s Treasure Collection are ineligible for Course Reserves. Materials from the Popular Reading Collection, Graphic Novel Collection, and Special Collections may be available for Course Reserves with special pre-arrangement. Materials from the Main Collection, Band Score Collection, Music Score Collection, DVD Collection, Juvenile Collection, and Circulating Periodicals Collection are available for Course Reserves. The Swisher Library does not currently support digital course reserve requests.

Important note: The U.S. Copyright Act (17 U.S.C.) applies to photocopies and other reproductions. Photocopiers are available for students who desire a personal copy. Copyright restrictions require that CDs, DVDs, and other audiovisual materials on reserve must be originals. Please consult a librarian if you have any questions or concerns.

Please note that the Library does not offer long-term storage for instructor-owned and department-owned items once they are no longer on Course Reserve. For these items, instructors or department representatives will be contacted and asked to remove these items. If the items are not picked up promptly, the Library will assume these items are donations to our collections and process them in accordance with our gift policy

The Swisher Library is not liable for damage sustained to personal or department owned materials placed on Course Reserve.
