Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Resources

Faculty Research Support

Swisher Library is committed to supporting the research endeavors of the Jacksonville University (JU) community. To ensure the most effective allocation of resources and services, dedicated faculty librarians are available to provide comprehensive research assistance to JU students and faculty.

Due to the volume of research requests and the complexity of many faculty research projects, Swisher Library is unable to undertake full research projects on behalf of faculty.  Data analysis, survey research, and writing/editing are not included in faculty research support.

However, our librarians are available to provide invaluable support in the following areas:

  • Research Consultation: Providing one-on-one consultations to discuss research strategies, methodologies, and information needs.
  • Resource Identification: Assisting faculty in identifying resources within the Swisher Library’s collections.
  • Citation Support: Offering guidance on citation styles, formatting, and best practices.
  • Instructional Sessions: Conducting workshops and seminars on research topics, database use, and information literacy.
  • Resource Acquisition: Acquiring resources for faculty via interlibrary loan or by adding requested items to the library collection.

By focusing on these areas, Swisher Library can maximize its impact on faculty research and ensure equitable service to all members of the JU community.
